What do you think of this e36?

Im planning on buying this to hold me off till next year when I hope to buy a 330i e46. The seller is asking 3000 (Canadian dollars), its a 318 (not sure if its an is) 5 speed with a full m3 body kit and full Magnaflow stainless exhaust.

You can see in some pictures the grill surround in the front is totally rusted and will definitely need to be replaced. The hood and fenders are starting to show minimal rust as well. This car has been sitting for 2 years this summer.

Im going to check it out this weekend hopefully and I will find out the year and mileage, but based on this information is 3000 a good price? Im hoping to get it for a bit less.

No idea on the mileage going to find that out this weekend when i take it for a drive.

The paint is custom i also have no idea what the color is called.

Anything i should specifically look at this weekend when I go for a drive?

By the way these are also cell phone pictures so it may not look that great. Going to take some better photos with my camera.

doubt you could buy that for 3k, fix it, and make a profit in a year

i'd just wait until you can buy a reasonable 330i, they aren't that much these days.

If it was a more saleable colour it would be a reasonable deal, but if you buy it,
don't expect to be able to sell it on easily.

Alright so i pretty much dropped the idea of buying the 318, ive been looking around and found a much better deal.

1995 325is with 170k black on black with minor rust on the rear wheel well being the only rust on the body. Car is lowered and has an aftermarket exhaust. The car needs a new hood and windshield but the seller is only asking 2000$.

And as for saving up for a 330i, i wont be able to buy my e46 until next summer and i need something to get me through the winter. As well i am planning on parking my e46 in the winters so the e36 will also most likely serve as a winter ride if i cant make my money back selling it.

Stay focused, get the 330i or get a six cylinder engine to start.
