Thank You guys

Actually I got the interior by accident. I was looking for a simple M-Technic with alcantara but the guy who sales parts showed me this one The best thing is I gave him my old interior in part exchange

A new shot of the front bumper

Wow! Really nice! With the rest of your modifications that you have in plan, how many HP you think the car will have?

340-350 is the minimum plan, 360 is possible. I won't be very suprised when it will bring 380 with alcohol injection. The max torque will remain below 720 Nm (around 530 lb/ft) but we will rev the engine to 5k rpm with high torque even at 4,5k rpm.

Of course you can see familiar mods here. I was pm'ing you few months ago. I asked you for your injectors mods. Next my friend and myself, we did the same mods and we gave our cars to our tunner, who made very similar maps in our cars

So BIG THX to you once again

Tell me about the quaife? Do u like it or maybe it disapoints you? A friend of mine, I mentioned above, has Drechsler Motorsport LSD and he is very happy about it. The problem is that his LSD cost him twice more then Quaife one

Wow... Powerwise in a word that's impressive. I've got a 330d though its an Auto and its pushing around 2450bhp.

Mods include and its interesting that you haven't done or mentioned this yet this yet a De Cat

the OEM part of course is the big lumpy thing on the left. This really does make a hell of a difference as it spools up so much quicker and on throttle response is a lot more like I'd like too. Its its current tune mines torque wise is around 510Nm and BHP wise as mines an earlier 184 model I'm pushing around 230...

Considered the big intercooler idea

but so far I've opted not to go any further with it. The other thing I've done is put a CAT Back full stainless system on mine, which I know you are looking to do and boy does it not sound like a Diesel

I've got a good system produced by Blueflame over here in the UK and it follows the line of the OEM system 100%. So it was a straight bolt on affair with hardly any adjustment needed, it doesn't rub, knock or anything.

and best of all for an aftermarket system the tailpipe isn't over the top and fits 100% in the designed cut out oh and it weighs a lot less too.. Power to Weight and all that..

thing that really interests me the most re your car is your use of injectors! I've heard of 335d/535d units being used before due to their higher flow rate but at the same time re a Deisel there is a concern re borewash as too much fuel could be flowing plus the earlier E46 managment system isn't as complex and therefore more userfriendly re remapping.... Just wondered whether you'd heard this as your tuner seems to be OK with them?

Commend your thoughs re upgrading the chassis. My next move is Koni FSD's all round and some brake upgrade though for the use I put my car through BBK's are a little OTT..... But I've got to say you've done a cracking job and what a real sleeper.. Who'd know eh!

Thank You very much Santino. About the visual mods, the problem is that the e46 look is great for me as it is. The only "visual mods" I can accept (fot the moment ) is nice and light weight wheel which can be accented by the lower suspension. I won't buy coilovers for the look but for the performance only.

Steve, I don't know your engine well enough to be sure of what I'm saying but... the major problem, as you mentioned, is probably the fueling system. Your car has the 1st gen common rail system. 204 hp M57N (same as 218hp from e60) is the 2nd gen, 231hp (e90, e60) is 3 gen and the last one 245hp (post lift e90, F01, F10) is the 4th gen system. As I know, there is a much difference between 1st and 2nd gen and I think it's the major issue to get more then 250hp from your engine. I don't know the other important diferences but it may occure that swaping the engine for the 2nd gen would be easier/cheaper. I think that in the first step you should check the injectors. If 272hp will work with your engine it would be much easier to get additional hp. As I said I don't know your engine very well and I don't know if there is a difference f.e. in the internals.
Remember, the injectors are from e60's 272hp not from the 286hp E90. E90's won't fit

Mine's an M57 so its come from the same family as yours, though there are some major differences mechanically, but one of the biggest differences centres around the engine managment system (yours is more flexible re tuning and more up to date re Euro regs, where mine's basically reached it limit) RE internals I understand that your's has a different block, crank and god knows what else plus you've got a more up to date EGR valve which on Diesels can cause issues I'm able to put a straight EGR Bypass system on to mine without major dramas something that over in the tUK a few people have done with a decent amount of sucess.

The net result of all that is the fact that its fueling can by the mappers be controlled better on a 184 engine you can see around 220bhp to perhaps 240bhp at best..some claim more but its torque that counts.... yet with the strives in technoligy you can get upto 260bhp out of your revised and undated engine and ECU as there are more parameters to work with and technoligy's moved on.

I was aware that the 535d's injectors were broadly compatable with that on your engine considering that engine wise it was an evolution of what you currently have but the new ones as you say are a whole different ball game..

Glad i could help!!
You have done so much more to your performance side! I am thinking to get a big intercooler to my car as well.

I have spent quite a lot of time (and money) to improve the drivetrain system and still it doesn't handle the 600Nm torque well. With your cars huge torque, I can imagine that you will soon have the same kind of challenges.
- OEM clutch died really soon, sachs racing clutch kit is working fine now
- the drive shaft rubber joint (universal joint?) is lasting max one year and have to be changed regularly
- All bushings in the rear axle area are under really heavy stress, i had to replace them with powerflex bushings
- My rear axle carrier just got cracked and is currently under welding and powdercoating, the workshop is strenghtening it with some extra welding
- While the carrier was taken off, i got my Quaife LSD taken apart and inspected, it was ok

I have been satisfied with Quaife LSD, but the whole differential unit in 330d is quite weak (i mean for example quite small drive flange bore) and i'm not sure how long it is going to last. I am starting to think to get E46 M3 differential...

But again, very nice mods!!!

Hi all!

I am also happy ovner of 330Cd and now I am looking for some mods to gain some power. Remap is ok, but it cant give me more than 265hp and 600Nm. Changing injectors for better ones sounds good but I have to ask first what are the issues? How about programing new inhector. Will faults occure? Is there anything more needed or is it just injector swap?

Thanks guys!
