Welcome to the club. I too owned/modded/worked on many cars foreign and domestic. E46 is my first bmw and I love it; yes, it can be better, but I love to mod so thats no problem. Future dream car, when I have the time... buy a 1st generation 3 series coupe or M and gut it out... install roll cage, racing style interior(seats, instruments, all manual/no power accessories such as windows, etc.) , and put in a newer M3 V8 engine/trans with supercharger and numerically higher rear ratio. For starters lol... the whole fun in cars is to build it, not buy it!

Hey Jeff, i need to see all these man. We should catch up.

Im starting a new project soon, e30 with s38b36 (e34 m5 engine) turbo. I want a 9 - 10 second 1/4 mile car. I want to go down easter creek and show some people a thing or 2 re M engines. Soon very soon. Looking for a good e30 (6 banga) coupe body.

I personally wouldn't care if someone had parts cars lining the street but MY neighbors on the other hand would probably burn my house down.

That is easily the coolest car story I've ever read! That E34 is in incredible shape. Literally, I cannot believe how new it looks. All the E34s you see on the road today look awful - but I can safely say yours looks absolutely stunning.

I want to do that with my E46. My parents keep thinking the things that I do to it are totally unnecessary every time I visit and we get into car talk. They just don't understand Sure, I don't need to refinish my wheels. I don't need to buy an M3 tri-stitch steering wheel. I don't need to get a bluetooth/SOS module. I don't need to clay-bar my car, remove the swirl marks, and re-wax it. But I want to, and you can tell a car is really cared for just by looking at it. Those are the ones that stand out.
