Question Best license plate LEDs? (pic request)

Which are the best LED lights for the rear license plate?

There seems to be a huge difference in price between the ones on ebay and others which are sold by lighting specialists, so I'm not really sure which ones to buy.

I want to get LEDs which are a close match to those on the new E90.

And is it possible to get LEDs which will turn off at the same time when all the other lights are turned off?

Thanks.

We offer two options that would work for you, the Version 3 License Plate Lights that go in your existing housings or the full housing replacements. The full housings offer the brightest output but some find them too bright so the Version 3 bulbs are another option.

Dude hit up mike at F1 Autohaüs, great guy, fast shipping, great products. All around win if you go with him That being said, get the license plate lights that he just got, its the 18 led license plate lights. They are going to be the best match if your going for oem. I was in your same boat and when these came out i jumped on them and couldn't have been happier. The license plate lights turn off when you turn of the lights anyways

Thanks for the suggestions. I took a look at your pics and the LEDs from Autohaus seem very bright when you can see them lighting up the ground behind the car. I don't want to use anything that is too bright tbh.

Have you got a picture of the Version 3 LEDs on an e46 and how much light it throws on the ground?

Thanks.

Didn't get a shot of the ground but here is a photo showing the old vs. the new (V3).

I just checked my dad's E90, which has the oem LEDs, and it seems there are only 2 LEDs per light. Perfect light distribution on the license plate and not too bright either..... so, what would be the closest match to those on the E90?

You can go with the OEM LEDs if you have the CSL bootlid:

Or you can go with our new 5k LED license plate lamps, closest match to OEM

If you look at our photo above, the V3 would be your best bet, no errors still but they are not as bright as the V4. Same output as the E90.

I just have one other quick question; what's the difference between these LEDs and the cheaper ones on ebay?

The difference is in the number and size of the LEDs. Check out the video I posted above, Jon explains the difference between our new Version 3 bulbs and the older Version 2 that you see on Ebay.

I like the LEDs in the picture here. Are these the 5K LEDs?

Will they fit the normal bootlid?

Will they cause any 'bulb out' warnings on the dash?

Are they very bright in reality? (I don't want LEDs as bright as the RacingDash ones).

And how much is shipping to Ireland?

Thanks.

Most LED fit the standard bootlid.

From Umnitza our V3 (which are the same output as the ones in the photo) will give you the same level of light for about $32 shipped, the V4 would be $36 shipped and would give you higher levels output.

Neither of them will give you a bulb out warning.

RacingDash LED are not bright in comparison to any of the newer LED kits. they are a more expensive complete plug in solution but they are not just bulbs and are not that bright.

I'm confused, the Racing Dash LEDs in the pic above (post #8) look very bright to me ...

Look at Post 9, you can see the representation of the two side by side. that's the best way to tell.

They will fit the normal boot lids and will not cause any bulb out messages.

They have the perfect amount of light but not as bright when compared to the full 18 LED license plate housing clear lens which are the brightest as seen below:

Mike, I take it the LEDs on snitzl3's car are the 18 LED housing- this seems too bright for me, so I'd prefer to go for the 5k ones.

How many LEDs are in the 5K LEDs?

And how much is shipping to Ireland?

Thanks.
