What's the frekin difference??

Hello. I am interested in upgrading the suspension in my 2001 BMW 330Ci Convertible. I was looking on modbargains at the H&R Cup Kit, and the H&R Coilovers. What is the difference between these two setups? Thanks.

H&R cup kit is a set of H&R springs with matched Shocks and the lower height is set (they are not adjustable)
H&R Coilovers let you adjust the ride height.

so both let replace the stock suspension, it's just that the Cup kit does not let you adjust the ride height as where the Coilovers do? Right?

I just recently replaced my oem sport struts, with bilstien sport shocks and heavy duty rear mounts, the ride is about 20% stiffer, and feel a decent amount of bumps but it was worth it.

and both replace the stock suspension correct? Also if I have the stock 17inch M Sport Rims and Bridgestone Potenza tires would I need to make any mods to accommodate the new suspension?

You will be fine.

I had the cupkit first, then upgraded to the coilovers on my vert. I love both kits, but I needed the adjustablility later down the line.

But if you're on a budget and want a drop, the cup kit is a great way to go.

Here's some examples for you:

When I was on the Cupkit (very slight gap left):

And then on the coilovers I was able to tuck the tires into the wheel well:

And now I can adjust them to accomodate for larger wheels:

This rear wheel is a 19x10e37

If you don't need the adjustability (which the average person doesn't) then go for the cup kit... the extra price your paying is for the adjustability and if you don't need it then...

Don't pay more than 300. Most will be in the mid 200 range. I paid about 250 for install and alignment, but that same place has since raised their prices a little.

Exactly. No need to go coilovers unless you really need the adjustment. If you want coilovers, I would go KW or FK. H&R coilovers tend to be rather stiff and pricey compared to other options out there.

If you do not need adjustments there is no need for the coilovers and the cup-kit will do its job just fine!
