Do I have bluetooth?
I think a simple test is to push and hold your steering wheel phone button. If you hear something about BMW assist or that BMW Assist hasn't been activated, then you got a TCU.

I have an '04 Vert. No BT. Had to buy a ULF module. I think the code is on the module but I'm not 100% positive.

No, it is a 4 digit passcode.

My module looks black, but I have the BT ULF manual in the car and a pass code, so I tried it one more time and had success! I was considering the dealer telling me it was about $1200 to put the BT in, but thanks to the previous owner, I now have it for free! This is wonderful news. Thank you E46fanantics! I can even get rid of the old cradle and put the two center cup holders back in.

Talking Success with pin 1 and 17

Thanks to all posters on this thread, managed to pair iphone4 to 2004 330ci by jumping pins 1 and 17, along with ignition sequence. Ulf fitted, Bluetooth inbuilt, monitor, no nav, no pairing button.

Bluetooth Passkey locaton

I started looking for the passkey for my 2005 M3 and got to the bluetooth module - just like the picture posted by M3Monkey. I was hoping the sticker would be visible, it wasn't so I kept taking things apart.

I almost gave up too, The sticker is on the bottom of the module - you have to turn it over to see the sticker. The module is mounted on a shelf, so you can't see the sticker until you unmount it from the shelf and pull the module loose enough to spin it.

Found the passkey!

Hmmm. I can try to take pick of the wire bundle but you should have same connectors I have.

Just a note... when you changed out the TCU for ULF, did you also install the BT antenna? Goes under ash tray back of center console
