Well, initial torque was better until the exhaust went on. Then I lost a bit up to 3.5k. Worth top end, though.

We did one pull, but it was before my exhaust and it wasn't very legit. We just kinda hit it. If he was pulling on me, it wasn't by much. I think from a legit start he'd take me, though. We're going to try to get to the strip this summer.

Yeah from a dead start he'd get the jump because of the LSD, but starting from 2nd or 3rd gear it would be very close.

Can you post up the exhaust dyno again? I'm looking back at the original one and the link's broken.

Actually, he's got a base model... no LSD or traction control. He's planning on swapping in a factory LSD from another model, though.

Here's the dyno again (Magnaflow vs. 3-inch)

No problem! Can't wait to see what you crank out.

BTW, maintenance tonight. New vacuum lines, new front O2s, valve cover gasket, oil cap, oil change, cleaning TB and IACV. Hoping to hit the dyno in the next 2 weeks.

No, not Jotech. I've been going out to LG Motorsports. Always easy to get in. Very consistent pulls. Here's a pull against my buddy's 2005 350z. Berk test pipes, TurboXS catback, Motordyne plenum spacer. This was his first pull and the only good pull he had that day. He kept losing power, even with 25-30 minutes between pulls. Not peak, but his low-mid power/torque was suffering. Still, He'd probably take me. He actually recently bought some HFCs, though. Drone was killing him.

Not bad. Not sure where I got JoTech from, must have been tired. I'd like to see a legit run, I'm thinking the Z would edge out but not by all that much. The impressive part is how well the 3er has responded to what you've done, and even after paying the BMW tax you'd still come under a bit cheaper than the Z, unless the Z strayed from name brand parts.

TBH, I saw your post in the for sale section and I started trying to get some numbers to work. To mny "big boy" things I need to take care of right now. So I'll just stick along for the ride and keep watching this thread, I'd like to see what you can figure out for headwork and if you can hit that 260 wheel goal NA.

Worst case scenario: if you can't hit that 260 all motor...would you be open to Nitrous if it came to that, or would you just go boost?

And on an unrelated note, there is going to be a dyno day out at AWD hosted by Imported Performance. 30 bucks for three pulls. Probably wont be consistant at all to LG, but if you don't got anything else going on.

Stock Z has no chance against aggies car imo. I've seen less epic N/A 330s pull stock Z's. Love to see a video though

It would really depend on the year and some other factors. Based on nothing but pure ricer numbers, it would be a close race, not one I would want to bet on. Despite being a Z owner myself, I would want Aggie's car to win. It would be a good run, that's for sure. The most impressive thing for me to see is how well the M54 responded to the modifications. Not that it hasn't been stated a million times, but Aggie's car would really wake up with a custom tune. The Shark injector looks like it is holding its own in these dynos, but canned tunes never really match up to a true custom tune.

I got WORKED by a modded 350Z. If I could do it over, I would have bought one over the Z3.

They're great cars. Lots of available support. I tried to part out the bimmer and get into one a couple years ago.

I was going to tell you how I hooked up those 50ohm resistors until you said that. Those cars are my arch nemesis only because I have spanked a few and got spanked by a few. And they just sound so damn good, but screw em I'll take my 330 any day.

Those 50ohm resistors don't get that hot since the wattage going through them in low, I just wrapped them in heat shrink tubing and zip-tied them to the O2 sensor connectors.

just use your o2 sensors' heater circut... don't wire up resistors

look me up on youtube. I have a video of how to do it. I would but I'm on my phone

I'm using resistors and I thermal-paste-epoxied a nice heatsink on them from digikey as well as mounted them on a piece of aluminum.

that's how I had it, but I no longer have rears. Just one single wideband. I'm not hacking up the wiring to the LC-1.

gotcha

edit: actually you could still use the oem O2 sensors instead of afttermakret resistors, I think.

Porting the heads will give you a big jump. My machine shop has picked up 25 to 40 hp on a 2.5. They have built a bunch of SCCA competition motors and done extensive flow bench testing. Don't know where you live but I would highly recommend them. They are just north of Philly. They charged me 800 for a complete head job with extensive porting. They made 225 whp on a 2.5 (with diff pistons and a standalone). I can't wait to get my car back together.

hmmm I need to discuss this further with you.

I've done a lot of work to my car recently, so far TMS pulleys, Bimmerbrakes headers, UUC flywheel, 3.46 diff, and AA tune. I was looking at the head as my next step

Yeah, they might even have a spare head to work on so that down time is kept short. You could probably sell your stock head and make money on the deal. Let me know when you are ready

Thanks for the info. I have a head that'll be available to me early 2012. It's undergoing some R&D by another Fanatic
