I've been on there since 2003 I'm also on an EVO forum, an RX-7 forum, several dsm forums, titantalk, thenewx.org, twinturbo.net and a ton of others, haha.

I have more posts on my350z.com than my friend with a 350. I generally troubleshoot for most of my friends.

Speaking of the Z, I plugged in my best run against his best run again. We both did 4th gear pulls. I plotted time and speed instead of hp and RPM. 10 seconds of pull, starting at 40mph showed me hitting about 115mph and him hitting about 108mph. The 350 is actually a pretty hefty car, too. About 3200 stock, so my car is pretty close to his in weight. Even though he has more peak hp and torque, it looked like I should take him.

I have different names on different different forums, a few now that I'm no longer active on. My350Z I'm KA24DE, I was Iceman00 on bimmerforums, Nissanclub, Freshalloy, G35driver, was a member of carspin.net (general car forum) was on clubrsx.com etc...Wow.

But I'd be interested in seeing the outcome if you ever go head to head with your buddy.

Anxious to get my DME back in the morning. I'll try to burn through a couple hundred miles quickly. Then it's clean the filter, change the oil, and dyno!

Honestly man, I don't buy that "adaptations" stuff, but keep going on the path you're on to keep it consistent.

She's back!!!

Only got to put 3 miles on her, I'm at work. On the plus side - she started, that's always good. Idle is raised to help out with my gearbox rattle. Throttle sensitivity is turned down a bit (also requested). Shark always seemed pretty artificial. This seems much more natural. More sensitive than stock, but not 10/10 like the Shark.

Downside is that my redline seems to be about 6800 although I requested 7k. Maybe the car is just so blisteringly fast that the tach couldn't keep up... lol. I'll put some miles on her and then give a review. All I will say is that it doesn't seem like I've lost anything. More of a review to come, and of course, a dyno ASAP.

Why do you want redline at 6K is the falloff that bad afterwards? (too lazy to look back at graphs) but i am curios to see the new dyno.

Then why do you want the rev limit at 6K you would never hit peak power?

Perhaps that was a typo (especially with the comment about the tach not keeping up)? The ATI damper which he should have soon was awful expensive to never rev past 6k.

I bet he requested 7000

did you try it out in gears other than first? I have a 7k limit but for some reason that really only works in 3rd or 4th. 2nd is a bit better, but in 1st it would seem my limit is still about 6.5k.

maybe try some higher gears on the way home

Oops. Sorry, I meant 7k. Edited.

That was 2nd gear.

I'm going to go out in a bit and try to get a few miles on it.

If you have the DSC turned off, or even in sport mode, I've found both the tach and speedo sometimes can lag behind what's actually going on. Also, OEM tachs aren't known for being that accurate. One of the reasons why I went with the Stack piece was because it's extremely fast to respond and show accurate RPM.

Weird - so in your experience the tach is more accurate with DSC on?

I hit 7k in 3rd gear a bit ago. It's fine. Probably just one of those things.

Car feels good. Idle is at 800, so it's knocked out some of the gearbox rattle. Very happy about that.

Idle at 800? How much did it help the chatter? Mine is really bad with the ac on not so bad without? My car idles around 700+ish? Just a simple shark, and my rev limit is 7K. Many people that have seen/heard my car run can vouch for that. I was shifting at the same point as a stock m3? PLS get the AFR's without them the dyno is junk. Many have said their AFR's didn't change I'd like to see if yours did? Awesome thread awesome car!

Double, I agree that adaption sh!t is marketing Also on (dig run) pull your abs module, see if anything changes with your tach. That is a fail safe way to know your DSC isn't kicking in. Even in "off" mode.

As far as I'm concerned, adaptations are real. When I first installed my shark it was on the dyno, once installed the motor stumbled on its first pull & died. The second pull/try was better but still real rough. I then stopped the session and drove off. After a few days it went back on the dyno & ran perfectly. So for me adaptations are real, the ECU needs a little time to re-adjust.

Do I need to disconnect the battery before taking out the DME? I found some instructions on AA's web site and they didn't mention disconnecting the battery.

EDIT: Sorry to threadjack. I meant to post this in the group buy thread for AA Software, but I forgot where I was. :-)
