235/35 and 265/30 is a good setup for those widths and offsets.

245's is on the aggressive side and rubbing issues will most likely occur on +35 offsets and OE alignment.

+40 with a 245 may hit the inside strut and +35 may rub on the outside fender.

with a 8.5 and 40, i think he'll clear the strut just fine even with a 245.
im on 18, but at et38 and 8.5 wide, 245/45 and no rubbing at all. and im lowered.

You can't guarantee him they will rub. That depends on tons of specs and not just suspension...

The tolerances are just too minimal to guarantee they will work. I actually tried running a 8.5 +40 with a 235 on a E46 with D2 coilovers and the wheel/tire hit the shock collar. Depending on your suspension, you may have some issues on the inside. Depending on your camber, you may have issues on the outside. IMO, issues on the outside are a lot easier to tend to then rubbing issues on the inside.

I can guarantee that the specs shown in my post will rub.

not neccessarily suspension specs will save him but am running the same offset and 245 size. Just advised of my suspension to clear confusion.

With the 235 35 19 on the afore mentioned setup it doesnt rub......... 245's work on an mspec car due to different guards !!

please also note that my setup gives even tyre wear so no crazy camber to wear tyres out on the inside early !!
