With the production dates on some 1999 models going all the way back to 09/99 and with their spare tires sometimes going back all the way to early 1999, making them now 11 years old, I'm wondering when you should replace a spare tire? Basically, how old does a spare tire have to be to be unsafe to drive on?

I'm not curious what you have done, I'm curious what the right thing is to do

My guess is it would be fine since the tire isn't subjected to the same weathering as a tire that is outside of the car. It's pretty protected from the heat, cold and UV rays.
