Everything about M3's and non-M3 sedans are different so i'm guessing our lights aren't tradable?

No, your lights aren't interchangeable.

On topic - I'll be doing this mod soon. Just have to figure out which paint I want to use. I'm going black incase that wasn't obvious, but gloss, flat, VHT nite shades? A few other options were mentioned as well, matte black rim paint, high temp paint, rustoleum, etc.

I'm not sure pre-face coupes came with bi-xenons. So I think you'll ONLY be able to swap with M3. I think when coupes got bixenons they were already into the facelift era. Not 100% sure though.

Ok guys i'm finally pulling the trigger on a retrofit kit. One of the people from Umnitza was very kind in helping me understand which parts he/she thought I would need in order to do it but I would like to get a second opinion from you guys. I'm sure he/she is very knowledgeable and i'm not saying that he/she isn't, I just think that second opinions are always good to to get.

So I have the stock headlights with 4 halogen bowls. I'm looking at the retrofit kit from Umnitza's site linked below...

http://www.umnitza.com/bixenon-compl...ns-p-6139.html

I have a 1999 323i prefacelift E46.

I would like to keep it as cheap as possible. I'm not in need of a really fantastic headlight set-up. As long as it works, i'll be happy. And I do plan on blacking out the whole headlight assembly with plasti dip. That's why i'm posting in here. Plasti dip over real paint so that it's reversible.

BiXenon Retrofit Options:

1. Angel Eyes: 2 Orion V2 Rings

2. Accessories: Special High Powered Adhesive

3. Bulbs: D2S 6000K (Standard)

4. Projectors: H1 BiXenon Motostyle (Standard)

5. Optional: LHD

6. Ballasts: Canbus 35W

7. Shrouds: Gatlin Gun (Standard)

Do you'll mind telling me what you think of this set-up?

Thank you!

These are from about a year ago, but it looked superb. The xenon shrouds are now plasti-dipped, and I am considering blacking out the bowls too.

edit: can't fix scale, my bad

I was on the edge about the RetroFit a few months ago, until I saw SolidJake's thread on it. There's both a video and a picture-by-picture how-to in the thread. You should definitely check it out. It really makes you feel comfortable in doing the RetroFit. Like I said, just a few months ago, I was talking to all sorts of people asking what to do and what to buy and all. First I had seen a Quad-Xenon setup that was posted by LightWerkz M3, but it wasn't a step-by-step DIY. However, looking through that thread, a reply caught my eye and led me to SolidJake's thread.

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=840919

Personally, I'd go with the Morimoto Stage III Projectors, E46-R Shrouds, H1 6000K Bulbs, 35W Ballast (55W Ballast for High Beams), LHD Standard

Projectors:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3181
Ballast:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=21742
Bulbs:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=4117
Shrouds:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=131

And you don't need the re-sealing glue (I don't think).

Thanks for the reply, I ended up just ordering a complete new headlight set up from umnitza

I'm looking into doing halo rings on my 05 330ci in the near future but I'm curious how painting the housings black or yellow would look as well. I've already had the front corners painted last time I baked the lights as well with all the other lights smoked. The car is going to be black on black on black so I just am unsure if doing that will be too much black

Yes you can. Some people advise against it because the plastidip may remove some of the chrome of the headlight bezel. However, I was able to successfully remove plastidip with no peeling.
