The original thread had a few people point out that dabears2k had been banned on multiple other forums for shady dealings. However, everyone was so seduced by the idea of this OEM-looking Dynavin unit that they either ratonalized it or chose to ignore all the sketchy things. All the info anyone needed was presented some time ago. It sucks dreamliner had to go through this but at least it might help some people wake up and use some common sense.

^precisely. I was swayed by the 'under new management' logo on their site, lol.

I am so pissed off at dabears2k for trying to rip me off, I spend the time to put this thread together...and hey, they were even sig worthy for me. :P

Hopefully, after all BMW orders stop, they will go back to the hole to whence they came.

1960 views so far....happy yet dabears2k?

I bought my dynavin unit from dabears2k.com and have had no problems. they delivered unit when they said they would and have answered all my emails very quickly. I wanted to give my opinion as I feel that there are always 2 sides to a story and I don't think you should base your opinion on 1 person's opinion. By the way, I have no affiliation with dabears2k.com but since they gave me good service I should let it be known.

Sure there are two sides, which is why I posted the email picture. You can clearly see they 'promised' to refund, but never did so.

The email chain in undeniable proof, dabears2k lied about offering a refund, and refused to do such, allowing the entire process to drag on for nearly 40 days.

In the end, dabears2k got what they deserved...this thread.

Too bad you cancelled your dispute on paypal. I would have filed it, escalated it, and waited. If you do that, PayPal freezes the funds in their account until the dispute is resolved (unless he already transferred the funds out). Anyhow, sorry for the hassle, but I'm happy to see dabears2k getting raped now.

EDIT: Did he issue a "partial refund"? I've seen that option as well if you are involved in a dispute. The party can offer a "partial refund" and if the other party accepts, the dispute is dropped. Happened to me once where a guy tried to dispute a transaction and keep the item ($200+). I issued a partial refund of $5, he accidentally accepted and the dispute was closed.

can you post the entirety of the emails? not just the summarizations? not cause i don't believe you im just curious how it went down exactly

that sucks i was leaning towards ponying up for this thing more and more every day :( guess ill wait for other vendors to have it. i know euro-spec does, but id like at least another vendor so i can see some pricing competition.

It would take a very long time to copy all the emails. You can tell by just the headers that he promised to refund within two days and the emails kept going....
