can u send me a measurement of the shock body from lower mounting hole to end of yellow, and mounting hole to end of threaded rod end. im pretty sure these will fit my e36, but the measurements should tell me more.

Shocks wont lower the car. The springs determine ride height. Thanks for looking.

the part numbers dont match, I am almost certain they fit my car but the valving is for a heavier car which I want. if you can get me the measurements I will likely come pick em up in the next day or two.

It's not that it doesn't match, that's the older version part #. Might want to give BE3 2698 a shot and see if you find a match.
