Rattle at the back

Hi all been following for a while, time has come for me to ask a question, I have this horrible rattling noise coming from the rear, it sounds at its worst on bumpy roads, I've had a new exhaust fitted and that seems fine, you can only here the rattling when the roofs down, any ideas would be greatly recieved many thanks

I had the same rattle. Check your battery. Lift it slightly and drop it. If that sounds familiar then make sure it's tied in correctly to the cage. It could be that screw/holder that rattles on you. Bet that is it.

The key is to lift/drop the battery to reproduce the sound.

Thank you for your reply, just checked the battery and it's in securely, must be something under the body, it's driving me nuts!

Have your rear brakes been serviced lately? I had an awful rattle that I could only hear with the top up, coming from the passenger rear. Checked rear shock mounts, the convertible top, battery, ... without success.

It was a loose brake pad. The prongs that hold the inner pad are easy to bend too much when installing

Have you looked at your rear springs? My bottom loop snapped off but stayed sat in the bottom location point. Rattled every time I went over a bump.

Problem solved, it was the heat shield rattling on the back box, thanks for all your replays.
