w/e...anyways
before i make a thread on a problem i have i figure ill ask here first

First: i dont know if this has to do with my o2 sims or not but every time i am in 5th gear, and i pop into to neutral, the rpms dip way to low and it seems like the car is about to stall but at the last second the rpms shoot back up. It does this over and over agian BUT the weird thing is, is that it only does this at speeds greater than 55, so im a bit confused. Could it be the ICV?

Second: i think i have a lifter tick because when i press my foot on the break pedal, every 3 seconds i feel a slight "tick" on my foot, and i just noticed this but its not audible, and doesnt change in pace as i rev so im not sure whats going on there either...

any help would be great, and i dont know if this has anything to do with it but i have header, and my post cat sims are siting in my engine bay ( i have o2 sims, but i dont wanna put them in just yet)

Any input would be awsome, and thanks

You have header? Also If I remember correctly you have needed new brake pads for like 6 months...

Does your car idle fine on cold starts?

I would clean the MAF first as it is cheap. My car was experienceing throttle blips and I sprayed some MAF cleaner on there and if went away. I would start there.

What do you mean you need to do the vanos?

Be careful what spray you're using on it or there's a possibility you could ruin it.

Cool cool, I know I use to use 95% or higher Isopropyl alcohol on all of my sensors (this was on my jetta, no way i'd do this to the bimmer) but it seemed to work out well. Although finding alcohol in that concentration can be more of a chore than it seems.

Yeah that's what I would use first, you said you replaced you MAF 2 months ago? If so than I wouldn't think that's the problem.

I replaced all my seals and gasket plate along with the vanos filter a couple of months back. It's very easy and gave me a little peace of mind.

You're telling me, I want to check them but I don't have the special tools that I need. I did notice a slight ticking the other day, it's kinda got me worried. I'm gonna check into having an indy shop do the work.
