They make this foil type wrap for intakes, it keeps almost all of the heat away from it. It doesn't look pretty though.

I wouldn't waste your money on the 'foil type' wrap, since you already will have leftover header tape it should work just fine, Cardsfan.

ebay!! if you see the dynos, 1700 headers make the same power as 120 headers! Also, I was worried about that wrap/wetting/self tightening. It's going to make your headers rust at an accelerated rate. Not many have put headers on an xi. It's not something you will ever want to do again!!! (on your back on the garage floor) If you have access to a lift, it might be better but you will have to raise/lower/raise/lower the car alot. Also I'm not using 330 headers. Using 323's! EDIT: I just sprayed like 4 cans of HT paint on my headers.

wouldnt it be fine to not wet it but just wrap it? And there is a diy for installing them, so that should make it a bit easier for us. I dont have a lift but I do have a 2-ton jack that I can borrow from my dad and Im getting jack stands. Hopefully it wont take too long to do it.

Sorry I cant dot in a tesla. I was straight Rollin a 200hp electric Porsche speedster kit car. It's a fiberglass speedster body, 64 vw pan, and a badass electric motor. Instead of putting them in the front area, he put them behind the front seats. I can pop wheelies like candy in that thing.
