Don't be, or at least not completely. I got one with DCT, I really, really miss my manual. Thought I'd give DCT a try, and while it can shift infinitely faster and smoother than I ever could, it just feels like I'm driving an automatic transmission now.

Fortunately I opted for a lease this time around, so I only have to put up with it for three years, then I'll go back to a MT.

So as some of you know I've been reading a series of books called speed secrets with the hope to become the best driver that I can be. With the goal of someday finding myself in some form of racing. I sometimes like to share tid bits from these books when I feel they are relivent to the group. Here is one of those times. This quote is taken from the book "Inner Speed Secrets", a book which explains mental focuses, programs, and strategies to become a better driver.

If you have 10 identical cars, with identical setup and indentical engines, chasis and tires, what is the percentage of importance of the driver? Answer: 100 percent. If the cars are not identical, but you want to get 100 percent out of the car, what is the importance of the driver? One Hundred percent again.

This just reiterates the "mod the driver not the car" mentality.

Yesterday, after nearly killing my engine , I was running faster autox times than an M3, and he had all new suspension.

But then he went all out and pulled in a great time while I was pulling codes

Hello fellow KC'ers!

I just moved here after spending 2 years in the D.C. area. Although I'm from NW Arkansas, so i'm not far from home.

Right now I just have my daily beater 2000 323ci, no major mods, just a few things to clean up the looks on it. Look forward to being part of the crowd if you'll have me!

Welcome, sometimes it's hard to follow this thread as there are some days we go through 3 pages but keep an eye out for meets. We meet fairly often.
