Just out of curiosity, am I the only one who likes S60 Rs? Might have gotten one if the things were not the worst thing imaginable for reliability

Saw an EVOLVE one tonight, wonderful looking. I test drove one last year and from memory it seemed to preform better than my M3. It could also be my memory just romanticizing it. After driving it I went home and found out how horrible it is to keep running and got super depressed because I loved the drive. Euro all wheel drive fun like that is amazing in my opinion.

Jeep cherokees with the 4.0 are pretty hard to kill. One of those would make a solid winter beater!

Or one of these would work nicely as a "beater"

Nah, I would go M1009 CUCV before that.... but both are out of my price range. Plus, the chevys are only auto

I dont think I could possibly even dent one of those things

I wouldn't want to pay more than like $1000

running AND heater for under 1500 would be tough to find

I found an excellent condition one and had a deposit for it for 4500$ but the guy backed out. So I just bought my mustang.

That looks like a solid beater with some key maintenance already done!

I could enjoy driving a deuce everywhere BUT a road! Nothing could stop me, and b/c of the multifuel engine in it, I could just burn whatever is cheapest...including used motor oil! Perfect zombie-apocalypse vehicle, except for sticking out like a sore thumb.

I could get into the whole off road / truck thing, but the way I see it - I would enjoy driving a road car way more than a a truck few times a year going off roading and breaking parts along the way. Because, with the exception of those few times a year, a off-road built truck is going to suck to drive. 35" tires, no breaks, no road manners of any kind... ect

Oh trust me I know the joys of a 4x4 truck in a city. Try parking anywhere in DC with a lifted F350, quad cab, long bed. Definitely not fun! Thats what led me to buy my BMW as a replacement.

But there is still that enjoyment of being the biggest thing on the road! However i'll stick with my 2 cars for now...

and the whole "I can make it" or "I can get over it" mentality.

On a highway in colorado (where everybody and their mom has a lifted truck) a traffic jam began to form. Next I see some truck just hop up over the curb and on the grass and head away from the highway and onto some side road. He just wasnt gonna sit in traffic

Lol yea thats the way to do it! We had a ton of snow out in DC, and on an exiting 2 lane road(wasnt really a ramp) there was a snow pile that narrowed it down to 1 lane. Well I came up on it and everybody was merging to the right b/c of this snow pile the plows had missed...I decided at the last minute that snow pile wasnt gonna hurt my truck so I floored it and plowed right through the 2ft snow drift. I'm sure it freaked everybody behind me out, but it kept me from merging, and then getting back in the left lane.

Also went to the theater and the entire parking lot was full except for these massive piles taking up a good portion of it. So I parked on it. When I came out there was a few other trucks and a jeep parked on it as well!

Doesnt look that tall in the pic. But if you stood next to it, your head would of been about the door handle right there.

lol nice! Yea you could say i'm a reformed red-neck.

I grew up working on big-rigs with the family business, and once I heard another powerstroke with them, I had to try them on for a while. Dont worry, i'll never put another set on! But they sure do sound good!

Actually a pretty clean truck compared to most.

When my uncle was a teenager he had a paper route up in Wisconsin. Even though the Wisconsin winters, he drove his little honda civic (I think it was, at the time) through the winters to deliver the paper. He had to put the paper in people's mailboxes at the side of the road. Well, infront of one mailbox was like a few feet of snow that just looked like a drift. So, he figured that he could just blow through it in order to put the paper in the mail box. Infact, it was the leftover ice and everything from a snow plow that was left over.... so basicly what my uncle did was hit a large, solid block of ice in a 70's honda civic at about 20 mph, destroying the whole front of the thing. Whoops.
