It is running pretty good. Throttle response and low-rpm power is much better and more consistant. We'll see over the next few weeks if the fuel mpg is up any.

Engine looked pretty clean when we had the Valve cover off yesterday. We had a yellow light over it, so it looks a little browner than it really was.

Funny thing is I've been to most of those places and stayed at the hotel they stayed at. Maybe I should apply at IND while I'm in Chicago.

optimal slip angle is a function of the tires, not the chassis setup. even within the realm of DOT race tires, something like a toyo RA1 likes a higher slip angle than a hoosier R6 does.

i'm not sure what you mean by "maximizing slip angle," as more isn't necessarily better. you want to drive with the slip angle the tires like...so it's more like optimizing slip angle, not maximizing.

and if we're only talking about dry conditions, body roll isn't really ever a desirable thing, stock car or not. the less body roll you have, the less weight gets transfered to the outside tires, and the higher speed you can carry that creates more sideload on the tire without going outside of the friction circle. of course you can't just keep upping the stiffness to dial out ALL the roll, because you still have to retain some compliance and movement in the suspension to deal with curbs and pavement irregularities.

It is more related to tires then chasis setup but chasis setup can how affect the tires.

That is correct, I did word it poorly.

I'm not really familar with your racing background (and I have none) but from what I've read/experienced and been told by a good Grand AM driver, race coach, and team owner I would disagree with some of that. I'm will be the first to say I have a lot to learn in regards to suspension setup/dynamics but I only repeat what I've read or been told by what I would consider a very reliable source.
Either way, it's nice to have someone else in this thread that has some knowledge about this stuff.
