I dont see how you would have a problem. If it caused a problem, then they wouldnt include a donut spare tire to use.

I assume that the donut is the same size outter diameter as all the other tires. I mean a 255-35-18 is the same outside diameter as a 225-40-18. I really hope that they don't mess anything up. I'm soo pissed at myself for not realizing that they weren't the right tire size to begin with.

Thats true, not sure if it will affect it. Just throwing the data out there in case someone else can use it to tell you.

I appreciate it. I thought I had read somewhere that the sensors allow for 3% difference in outside diameter but I can't seem to find it anywhere again. If the 3% is correct these tires will cause an issue which will piss me off...

If its 3% you'll be fine. The 40's arent 3% different than the 45's.

I thought that the 40 meant 40% of the 225mm of the width of the tire... If that's right then wouldn't 45 be 45% of the 255mm and 5% larger? I could be wrong and will be the first to admit it lol...

width wont matter. All that *should* matter is the outside diameter of a tire when it comes to a traction control or ABS system.

Well, yeah but the 40/45 would be the number for the aspect ratio for the height of the sidewall. The width doesn't change from 225-40 to 225-45. I'll just have to wait and see. The tires should be here in a few days.

You should be fine. People run snow tires up front with bigger sidewall all the time, correct? So how would you have a problem?

You also have to consider that ACTUAL measured diameter/circumfrence of a tire is often much different than the advertised size of the tire.

Aren't all four tires the same sidewall height though? I know my snow's are 225-45-17's but all four are that same size, which means that the front and rear speed sensors would be seeing the same amount of rotations. Right? The problem that I would be having is that my fronts would rotate 800 times in a mile while the rears would rotate 830 times in that same mile... I'm wondering if that is enough to throw off the speed sensors?

I think you'll be fine. But it will look weird.
There is no possible way to "take back" your bid? ![]() I know the seller can cancel a bid, maybe just send him an email?

This is where I read about the 3% tolerance...
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1456674 Can anyone confirm this? |

Do I have to take the headlights out to change the HID bulbs?
My two front bulbs aren't even the same color so I just got some new ones in from jlevi

I was able to get to my bulbs in my 330 without taking the headlight out. Just had to remove the intake and the washer fluid reservoir. I'm betting it might be a little different on your M3 though.
