Z, if you see the side of that res there is a little bolt loosen it up and that sucker will pull right out. Brad you don't need no stinking dyno tune! You need nitrous!

It's sad to say but I see most BMW owners getting "canned" tunes for the purpose of turning off dash lights, not for actually power gains.

Good in a way. I still have a soft pedal because I need to bleed the master cylinder but the new brake booster is doing it's job. Before my pedal would go all the way to the floor but now it only goes so far and then stops, Like it should. I won't really know for sure though until I do a good bleed (there is still a ton of air in the lines) and have the master electronically bleed.

Gotcha. I may do it as well depending on price. I just did a PS flush and replaced a leaky hose.

I bought that intake plenum plumbed for direct port so I'm getting there.

The oil reservoir is 55 bucks at my stealership.
Maybe cheaper online.

I ordered one. I have the intake out and good access so I might as well replace it.

Well, ok, yes. The gruppeM isn't the best intake in terms of power, and others far surpass it for pure gains. Just so that we are done beating the dead horse, long tube intakes can make dyno-proven 5-10 horseys. But if I were going for pure gains, I would strap on a supercharger and call it a day. I'm going for more holistic modifications: I want to keep the BMW-ness (naturally aspirated), add a little power, and overall, improve the driving experience (which, for me, means sound).

In my opinion, the gruppeM sounds the best. Also, I do like unique things: I like knowing that only a few have the same sound that I do. I think this is the source of our misunderstanding: you (xi) value power gains over uniqueness and sound, whereas I would rather be unique, spend too much money, not make as much power, and get a little flamed for it by the horsepower junkies. There is nothing wrong with having the "moar power," approach, I just value different things.

Example 1: i paid out the ass for the gruppeM
Example 2: I would pay out the ass for technik gen 3 headers
Example 3: my family has kept old Audis for far longer than is reasonable, mainly because they are something different, though perhaps not the best actual cars of the period in terms of performance.

Also, Jlevistreetwerks is 20 minutes south of me, so a custom tune definitely isn't out of the question. And there is also a shop nearby where I'm taking my stock M68s to be chromed, so I'll be sure to post up pics when they're back.

Flame on.

Damn! I was really hoping you would pick up on the rim chroming. Definite troll right there.

You put together pieces of different intakes, right?
