That's the problem, is I'm not sure what's out there that last longer than oem without the threat of falling apart. The subframe bushings probably take a worse beating than any other bushing on the car.

Now if you want to go solid you can do that.

Really, what's in the car now?

PowerFlex are the ones that I've seen pictures and horror stories of seperating. Not sure if it was an older/original design and they changed it but......

I did, dont you read your texts??!!

Basically, it works, but it doesnt work very well so it isnt worth doing.

So there isnt much choice on a budget wheel for Xbox 360.

For all you gaming geeks and computer geniuses.

What would I need to run a PC racing game with a 3 monitor setup. How much would this cost (minus the montiors) and could any of you build something like this?

Not at full settings including the monitors and stands for 800$.

I agree with andy, and I too, could build it.

FWIW, I dont like multi monitor setups. I would rather run my PC games on my 55" TV rather than 3 20-24" screens and have to move my head around.

You could build a fair gaming rig for 800-1000, but it wont be entirely top-notch. I'd say 1-1200 is the sweet spot, not including peripheals. But it has been a while since I actually priced one out. You also have to consider if you want to mess with overclocking it yourself(pretty easy) or buy the stuff that is already running at a higher clock.

Sorry, 800 was for just the PC. No Monitors or anything.

You have to remember that I want this for racing games so 3 monitors makes it much more realistic.

iRacing, that is the only game I would ever play.

Ruben was right originally, it works on my laptop but it's not great.

How does the 3 monitors increase realism? You plan on getting the headset that turns the helmet view when you turn your head? gonna have a desk built so that the monitors can surround you? iRacing isnt very resource intensive, so i'm sure you can build a good system on a pretty low budget. Most of your money would be spent on killer monitors.

Check this thread, rally goodness...mmm...

I would set the monitors at angles to increase the range of view (semi wrapping around) forcing me to use my peripheral vision and mirrors to see cars coming from behind. How is this not more realistic than staring at one static screen.

As far as iRacing goes, I'm not really sure what is needed because I don't know sh1t about computers. What I read on forums is like chinese to me.

Just making sure you've thought it through is all. I've had friends that used 3 monitors for flight sims and **** and I never seen the point. But I would be playing iRacing, whereas you would be practicing with iRacing.

You could of gotten some killer deals on desktops that would play it quite well for 5-600 over black friday/cyber monday...but now it might cost a few hundred more. It wont take a cutting edge system to play it well. A graphics card capable of 3 monitors will be the most expensive part really.

The 2nd video in that rally is pretty wild. The footwork is ridiculous, and that one fireball wreck that makes a mushroom cloud!! Holy shits...

I love the part I bolded above, I LOL'd.

I just really have no idea what I need. All I know is it either has to be cheap enough for me to convince Julie to let me buy it with "our" money or I will have to use my sock drawer money.

The plan would be to initially use my plasma TV to save some money by not buying monitors right away.

I just think it's crazy that they have leagues and what not and the fact that you get penalized for excessive contact and bad driving. This iRacing seems to be just about as good as it gets in terms of being realistic next to actually being out on track. Should be a good way to learn racecraft.

Haha, well thats the truest way I knew to put it. Any race sim or anything I do is purely for entertainment, whereas you have actual plans on getting back into a race car and hitting the track.

I'll research more about iRacing later, but I bet you could build a fair rig for less than the 800$ that was quoted to you(give us those specs if you have em). Hell, double it as a media PC hooked to the TV and you could probably sell it to the wife easier. Teach you how to download movies and **** with it.

I read several posts earlier that said alot of guys use it instead of actual kart racing, and save alot of money and have more fun.
