Well I have had the Evo 12 for about 1,000 miles now and for the price they are really good. Good dry, good wet grip, hardly any hydroplaning, and it rains hard and alot here in Seattle.

I had the vredsteins. They were okay until I gave 'em a whirl at auto-x and a track day. Wouldn't get them again.

Just ordered some (v12s). I'm hoping that they will be much quieter than my shot Michelin Pilot Sports (original design). The road noise is killing me.

PS: It looks like the Hankooks are hot items. Tire rack and Discount Tire both have low stock of the 255/35/18 (rear staggered setup). I think the glowing C/D review pushed up demand!

For the money, I am quite happy with the Hankook V12s. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Has anyone here driven with the Hankooks on a track? I am planning to pick up a set in advance of a club track event in a couple of weeks, but have heard the Hankooks may be too soft in the sidewall and don't wear well on the track.

why not look into Bridgestone re-11's, Dunlop star spec, or some Mich's?

same here.
They are awesome tires for the price. Quiet, smooth ride. Lots of grip and they are vanilla scented.

I have had my Ultrac Sessantas on my ride for about 3500mi and have also tracked them around the Nordschleife. Great grip in the dry, but as soon as it gets wet I lose my confidence in them. Not that they're bad, but not as good as expected, or as comparable tires. My bro says the same, and he drives around MUCH more than me and has done around a hundred laps on the ring.

I haven't tested the V12's, but they may be my next choice.

you would probably find this most helpful.... btw my friend has the V12s on his car... he likes them too... The dunlops are great but really heavy... for a 225/45/17 mine weighed 26 pounds a tire... so now I've switched back to the PS2s but it a 245/40/17 and they are only 22 pounds a piece! haha that was a 4 pound difference a wheel... in a 325 it makes a difference lol...
My preference is asymmetricals for sure... rotations are then possible side to side if you have a staggered setup... or rotation on any corner is possible on a square setup

I have the vredesteins now and I love them. I have a lot of track and autox time on this set and they have been top notch. There's really good dry grip and they are the best tires I have used in a lot of water- standing or during a downpour.

Now DAMP conditions are a different story. When you are driving on wet surfaces that are drying out, or it's just drizzling out, these tires tend to slide more than when it's very wet out. That said, it's a very predictable slide and you shouldn't be surprised since you'll most likely be hauling ass.
