My Ride: gone...
^ Nah in my case all I care about is drop...so I would rather spend $1000 that I saved from going with Racelands instead of Bilstein or any other...and get some mods for my car...if you track your car...thn yes they are not made for that

I see what you're saying, but to some people 250 is perfect for something like this. They may or may not have the extra money for KW's and if they do have the money then they can spend that on other things or even better save it. The e46 is also a 10k +/- car now. People are modding with budgets/smaller wallets and to them its a product that has proven to go low and be fine so why spend more on something else that is gonna do the same FOR THEM if that's their ultimate goal?

As for the replica parts; that can be said with all the pieces most sponsors sell. Most of the pieces require some kind of "tweak" to fit, some more than others but people still buy them and spend the same amount of money for paint and install as they would on the real deal and in the end they can achieve the same result (A good looking exterior mod). That's basically the idea behind these coils, or at least how I see it. People are doing these drops for looks not performance. If that was the case it wouldn't matter what coils you spun down all the way its still gonna perform like crap and the test and actual first hand experience show these are safe enough to drive around on so why not...???

Exactly! Whether its worth it will depend on the tweak.
This should have been said a month ago.

SUMMARY:

Raceland coils will give you a cheap drop, marginal performance, and are socially unacceptable on this BMW forum.

Fender gap sucks, we all know. But so does catastrophic suspension failure. Please, keep OEM until you've saved enough for a decent suspension setup.

I don't know if they are being redesigned or what but RL doesn't sell them anymore.
