I am not much of a cracker barrel cheddar cheese guy, however for a cheap good tasting cheese, i will always go for the run of the miss horseradish cheddar. OMG so good!

Not sure if anyone knows, but I had a semi-firm goat cheese from whole foods a while back. Actually... it was definitely more like a hard cheese, similear to a Grana Padano (

btw)... any ideas of what it is called? It was definitely goat cheese, but not crumbly like your typical chevre.

since you're in new jersey, you should drive into the city and hit up murray's on bleecker. whole foods is garbage and really overpriced. also, their selection of alpines leaves much to be desired.

yeah one of my go-to spots in the city has a caciotta al tartufo... out of this world.

wait until you have a bad day at work, visit your local whole foods or wherever (WF does have an amazing cheese selection) and then visit the liquor store next door, and get a couple bottles of wine

I go to a cheese store/boutique so I can get small wedges of the cheeses I want to sample because they sell it by weight.

They also have selections of "ends" which are usually too small to sell so that's a good way to sample too.

That's also on top of the fact that they let you sample a small bit of cheese while in the store too.
I do this to find the ones I like so if I'm at a supermarket doing my regular shopping that has a good cheese selection I can just buy a prepackaged wedge without worrying about waste.

I rather buy from my cheese store though.
