all this time i thought it was a bimmer, turns out it is a toyota... please help!

so my 93 318 has been having a small idling issue. it would rev between 2500 and 2800 at idle when it warmed up. didnt seem to be a big deal. but yesterday i let my cousin borrow it. he is driving down the road and the throttle goes wide open and sticks. now when you start it it instantly floors it. i tried unplugging certain sensors to try and troubleshoot a bit. but i havent worked on bimmers that much so i could use some help if anyone has any ideas. thanks for reading and any help

Uuuummmm, this is E46 fan. You need to post this in a different forum. Maybe a Toyota one!

its a 93 318 thats a bmw just for the record. i was refering to the problem toyota is having now. obviously the meaning was lost but anyway.

way to be useless. I have many friends with e30s from the 80's that run circles around E46's on stock motors with 200k+

Ignorance..

anyway, if you're throttle is stuck open, have you checked the throttle assembly? Your butterfly valve may be stuck open, and you may also have a few vacume leaks. This would explain the high idle

I would try posting up on bimmerforums.com, there are alot of E36 gurus over there that has dealt with your issue from one time and another.

i thought it was the throttle cable or something. but when i took that off the top flap was open and bottom was closed inside the throttle body. and thanks i will have to post on that site too. i do thank you for any and all help
