i dont know about that, in a way your right but in the other hand your wrong,my best friends has a mk3 supra with the 7m-gte motor and it runs 11's easy and its stick, i dont think automatic trannys can handle the power but i guess that torque converter u got there will do the job.... one more question, where's the fun in driving that e46 2j if its auto??

Lol theres no debate about that topic, all the fastest drag cars are automatic, do your research( (HPF jus made a manual to auto conversion for the M3s). Auto supras get deep into the 10s with just 550whp. The torque converter actually puts more strain on the tranny, but it eliminates turbo lag and lets you launch close to 4000 rpm in full boost. The trannys built so i'm not worried till i get to the 1200whp range. Im purpose building my car for the street/drag strip because thats where I have FUN. Im actually drawing out designs for a rx8 1jz-gte vvti swap for a track car which will be manual and weigh close to 2500 lbs . |

Even a pro can have a hard time against BMW Autopro. Our tranny in sport mode do wonders, specially if you're not a master.

Manual's are for kiddies trying to impress school girls, Auto's win races...
Anyways this stand alone computer for the trans you're talking about... lol Who's tuning the car? Any idea on final gear ratio? I want to see how this comp works to calcualte slippage from the tq converter to compensate for over reving of the motor to achieve proper shift points. I'm curious to see how a "stand alone" trans comp is going to be able to do these calculations without talking to the main ecu. I mean you do realize your never going to get the speed of an smg shift even on a manual valve body trans. Auto's can shift extremely fast with pre set shift points. I'm curious to see the timings on these shifts with this "controller" your talking about. What are you using to engine management? Stock gte ecu won't do manual shifts on an auto, at least not well to say the least. Ive never heard of this trans controller. Does it piggy back of the main ecu or do you need a full out standalone ems? Haltech, AEM? Please tell me your not using Map Ecu... Anyways good luck! Thats one way to solve the Vanos issue lol.
