Driver side speakers, both front and rear, VERY quiet...

being a teenager, i play my music very loud and today, i was driving along with the music blasting, but at a level i always have it, and the whole of the driver side speakers went really quiet wtf??

i thought it was just the front driver side speaker, but using the fader realised, it's the whole of the driver side... every now and then, the speakers crackle to normal volume but then just go quiet again... i was planning on replacing all of the speakers with co-axial speakers any ways, but i'm not sure if its a wiring problem, a problem with the head-unit or something like that....

btw, if it's any help, my setup is:
Kenwood KVT-526DVD with Kenwood KAC-9104W amp and Pioneer TS-W3002D4, stock speakers all-round without H/K system.....

thank you in advance

do you do the install of the head unit/amp/sub yourself?

are you sending a balanced signal to the stock amp in the trunk to power the stock speakers or was your car one with the stock amps built-in up front? one thing to try would be to reverse the left and right channels coming out of the head unit (to check and see if its amp, head unit, or speaker-related).

maybe this is just a sign that you need to get some new speakers and/or amp.

there is no stock amp in my car, it's a UK model.... and yup i did the install myself, but i used a wire adaptor to get the wiring done, so i don't think i can reverse the channels to see if it's the HU or the speakers :\

haha that's what i was thinking! just a few hours before i was doing research for new speakers all round, but i don't want to spend time and money fixing in new speakers if this problem carries on afterwards...
