they were purple before the blk/wht combo but

yeah the rear bumper area is a pain, i took off the little bracket holding the bumper on, doesnt make too much difference to be honest, well the fact mine was broken from scrubbing didnt help, but makes the rubbing more bearable now, as it does slice the tyre, just lightly rubs it

Great read and great pics! Saw pics of a mate who's just put them on his touring and yet to lower it. Are there any additional issues fitting them to a 4dr you think?

LOL! I had a passat B5 with 8.5x 17 ET18Fr and 10 x 17 ET17 Rr on it. That had P O K E !

Ive decided to put the 19s on hold for now. Picking the car up at the weekend and it needs a few bits doing to it, so Ill sort them first. Ive actually bought a set of OEM 18s as I hate the std MV1s.

Nice to see another person trying different things with the X5 wheels. I did 215/35/19 front and 235/35/19 rear.

Sorry to dig up a old post!

Am in the process of putting X5 rims on my e46. Would you be able to tell me what spacers you ended up using for the front and rear?

Tyres?

At the moment it has the standard msport suspension? do I need to modified it? Also The rear Arches? Can they be outer lip be rolled? or does it need to be pulled or flared out?

Sorry for the million and one questions.

Get laid into for not searching and starting a new post, get laid into for bringing up an old one! So I'm doing exactly what this guy did. But I've just noticed something odd. I ordered an19x 8.5 VMR wheels a couple years ago and ran slightly stretched 225 35s all round on standard ride height. About ready to change tyres and I come across a set of x5 wheels 9 x19 and 10 X 19 so I grab them. They're not the snowflakes show here but the thick 5 spokers. I like them. They are getting painted this weekend, still haven't decided on colour. Opinions?

Anyway, the issue I have is the 8.5 inch rim measures 8.5 or slightly bigger when measured across the side yeah? Well the x5 wheels measure 10 and 11 inches! Lol. What is going on? They've both gained an inch in width! So I'm ordering tyres tomorrow and I don't want ridiculous stretch. 225 35s on my 8.5 inch rim are already pretty stretched. So I was thinking 235 35 on the 9 and 245 35 on the 10. People are saying they've stretched 225 35s onto a ten but I don't get it? I love a stanced car but that just seems like its going to be nuts. But the point of this post isn't to complain I'm worried that these rims are some hybrid, when the tyres come I'm going to be over stretched because they measure an inch bigger... ?
This is my supposed 10 with an 8.5 and 235 35 tyre next to each other

Has anyone had this before? Ordered 18mm custom spacers with hub centric and longer bolts for the front and 7mm with longer bolts for the back. I'm all set, just worried about tyre size now?

It took some work but they're on!

10mm spacer at the rear 245/35/19 - 10 inch rim
18mm spacer at the front 225/35/19 - 9 inch rim

I think I may need to raise the front a little bevause the air ducts are 2 finger width off the ground lol.
