it looks ok except the smudge. The only thing is i am going to use Matte clear coat, so i can have matte black, or matte gunmetal wheels, so they are not shiny.

yup. i just dont know how hard it will be to find matte clear in the high temp section. i have some normal matte clear and i used it on my headlight inserts, and they look great. not glossy at all.

in reality if you do it in a dust free environment you can rattle can just about anything.you could sand it down to metal, primer, and paint it w.o too much difficulty IMHO

I think the M68s look awful in any color except for OEM silver. Maybe anthracite or something a little lighter than the gunmetal would work.

Personaly Flat black on our Taig cars looks awsome so I took it upon my self do rattle can my style 44's. Now mine turned out pretty good for the little amount of time i spent on them and by little I mean about 30 hours. If i would have spent a little more money and sandblasted insted of hand sanding them i could have saved some time. I wound up spending 70 bucks for sand paper and rustoleom autmotive primer and flat black. sorry but i only have a crappy phone quality up close pic.

my budget is as little as pssible. i would rather put in the time and spend as little as possible than have a shop do it for me. i just cant quite decide on the color.

Also i was thinking . automotive primer isnt heat sensitive, so why does it have to be high temp paint? cant i use a regular paint and a bunch of clear coat? is the clear high temp? i mean can someone explain the finer points of high temp paint to me?
