Cannot program key
So I tried different methods to program my key after replacing the battery and it doesnt work. Only one work but the other would not work. I have the old rubber key and the light works when I press the button but it would not open the doors. The other key works flawlessly, what am I doing wrong?
Here is some DIYs I tried: http://www.bmwgm5.com/Key_Recode.htm http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=660142

Did you try learning the keys in reversed order - faulty key first? Does the fault follow the key? Can you unlearn the working key?

Do all three buttons blink the LED? Remove the battery in the non-working key for a few minutes. While it's out press the buttons a few times and make sure it's dead (no blinking LED). Then reinstall battery and try again. I've seen the keys get in a weird state.

Similarly do a thorough battery off reset on the car. Are the locks popping up and down as expected with each key during the programming sequence?
The RF receiver is in the back window. Try holding the key between the front seats while doing the learning. |

The lock is only popping up/down for the learning key

I had the chance to pull the battery out and give it 10mins in order for the key to reset itself. Tried reprogramming but still no luck. Is my key toast? This sux

just to add something: If you program one key, the other key stops working. you have to program both keys together.
