YUM .06 better than expected. If it holds 42 into open I see 47. Hold on to your hats there'll be a bit of turbulence up here in these clear skies.

On a side note, taxes are done so I'll have time this weekend to do some research but unfortunately my "real" job is picking up and I have overtime hours this week and next so I probably won't be too active.

Not the sell-off we would have seen a year ago or even 2-3 months. I'm impressed.

I recommend Netflix - NFLX.

The juggernaut that is Netflix continued April 21 as the company reported nearly 14 million net subscribers at the end of the first quarter (ended March 31) - significantly topping analyst predictions.

The Los Gatos, Calif.-based online DVD rental pioneer posted Net subscriber change (including non-renewals) in the quarter was an increase of 1,699,000 members compared to an increase of 920,000 for the same period last year, and an increase of 1,159,000 from the fourth quarter of 2009.

The company also reported the lowest subscriber acquisition cost ever at $21.54 per gross new subscriber, and churn at 3.8%. Churn represents subscribers who elect not to renew their monthly subscription service during the quarter.

Netflix said the percentage of subscribers who used Watched Instantly viewing more than 15 minutes of a TV episode or movie in the quarter was 55%, compared to 36% for the same period a year before and 48% for the fourth quarter of 2009.

Founder and CEO Reed Hastings said subscriber growth continues to be fueled by streaming, which members receive as a value-add depending on the type of monthly rental program they order.

"Our growth continued to accelerate in the first quarter, with record net subscriber additions and record-low subscriber acquisition cost," Hastings said. "It is clear that our performance ... is being driven by subscribers watching instantly. We see that has the key metric."

He said the Apple iPad would have low impact on video viewing compared with the TV, video game systems, and Web-enabled Blu-ray Disc players.

"There is a very broad usage pattern with users accessing Netflix from multiple devices," Hastings said.

Hastings said research showed that subscribers who leave Netflix are three times more likely to rent from kiosks than traditional video stores.

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/net...ocket-35-19148

The stock was 86 on Wednesday and closed at 100 today. It's on fire. Netstreaming is going to become more popular, that is why Blockbuster is going bust.
The kiosks like Redbox are ok , but with NFLX you can rent movies for 9 dollars a month (blu ray for 2 dollars more ) and watch unlimited movies. And you don't have to return them to the kiosk. It is cheaper than HBO and you can access thousands of movies when it is convenient for the viewer , not the cable company.
And the competition is limited. WalMart recently bought Vudu and Apple has Itunes, and Blockbuster is beginning to netstream. But it is too little too late for BB. Netflix has the lead on video on demand.

AA is my current bad pick as it's down over 2%.

Outside of MGM positions are currently:
AA - down as mentioned
AMAT - up 16%
AMD - up 6.6%
C - up 18%
and F - up 8.5%

I'm looking for new positions but haven't found many set ups I really like. Charts all either look like they're topping or like I've missed the move. I'm sure I'll find something though and I'll let ya'll know when I do.

Google is getting cheap and over sold. I already have 7 shares @$430. I'm going to buy another 5-8 shares.

Reasons I like
1. Forward PE is 16
2. 2010-2011 growth estimate is 15% (which I think is underestimated)
3. Stock is barely selling for 1X forward growth rate
4. PE of 20 would give the stock a price of $641
