Ahh ok. That makes sense now. I know it's safe as long as the nut didn't back off. I was just confused as to how to keep the nut FROM backing off. What's the style of hub/mounting system called? Just curious.

The reason I say it doesnt seem safe, is you have 1 centric "lug" holding your entire wheel on. So only 1 lug has to come loose (vice 5 normal lugs) so that's an 80% difference. Also, since the lug is in the center of the wheel, (vs being in a star pattern) as the driver's side wheel rotates and the hub spins, wouldn't that put some sort of pressure on the lug, which would fight it loose? This would only occur on the driver's side as lugs are right-hand thread so all lugs on the passenger side would actually become tighter (in theory). Also, this would have a better chance of occuring while making a left turn, as the lateral G-force is pushing the car to the right, which is in turn applying more pressure on the drivers side lugs. I'm sure this isn't the case, and the locking springs have some effect on this, which is why I'm curious how it works.
Incredibly safe, if it wasn't the FIA wouldn't approve and we would be seeing Formula racing wheels flying off all over the place. BTCC, WTCC, etc all use this style of wheel setup with a single lug and the only time you see issues is when a crew member doesn't hit it with a gun.

went back to blue with some valspar exotic sea paint. Looks just like plasti dip blue in pictures but a lot different in real life. It's a great color imo. I'll just ignore the negative feedback since I know there will probably be a lot. I like it though so I don't need anyone to change my mind haha

Here's my old plasti dip blue wheels
