Exclamation Help please!!

Ok so this morning on my way to work I was driving on the on ramp to get on the highway so I punched it to beat a truck and manage to get on. As soon as I gave it full throttle I felt like my car wasn't responding. It was lagging as i gave it gas. So I was like What the fff. I then look at my cluster to find my engine light popped on. I roll off and get to a stop to find my car is shaky. It was really weird. So now I'm bummed and scared as to what might be needed fixed. I got to work turned it off and it wasn't doing it anymore. Any advice as to what might have caused this? Have any of you experienced this problem? If so please help!!! thank you guys for reading. Much appreciated.
