Question Please tell me it doesnt

I Got rid of My HK and got a new head unit, amps and new speakers. I just realized that this might affect the cars warranty. Did i just void the bmw 4yr warranty or any part of it (ex...electrical system) by doing this?

Dude, you're screwed!

(j/k) You should be fine. It's my understanding that a dealer would have to have specific reason to believe that the new aftermarket components have directly affected the warrantied part or system in question.

i dunno... it totally depends on your dealership i think, mine wouldnt care because they are one of the few good BMW dealerships out there. But, all depends on their opinions and if they wanna be dicks about it or not

i dont understand dealerships. They are not the ones who decide wuts warrantied and wuts not....they get there money from BMW for warranty repairs. So i dont buy that garbage when one dealer does an another doesnt cause obviously if one dealer can get reimberssed (spelling?) the other could just as easy. I Guess some dealers are greedy and figure....Well we could do the warranty and get just enough from BMW or we could repair it for at a charge and charge wutever we would like and rip this guy off. Correct me if im wrong here.

By law, they must honor the warranty unless they can demonstrate that the equipment caused damage to your car and that's very hard to do. What dealers try to avoid is people who tear their cars apart and then try to trade it in for top dollar. Since they are making a killing with the CPO program, they want you to return the car just as they gave it to you. The way the see it, they're just lending you the car until you bring it back.
