The Huffington Post interviewed several contestants who appeared on the show, and their experiences included barely functioning cars, gadgets that were removed as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, fat-shaming, bad relationship advice, and a little friendly verbal coercion by some dude named Big Dane.

"There wasn't much done under the hood in regards to the actual mechanics of the vehicle," according to Seth Martino. "For the most part, it needed a lot of work done to make it a functioning regular driver, which they did not do." Martino said he had a hard time even driving the car home. "They added a lot of extra weight but didn't adjust the suspension to compensate so I felt like I was in a boat, and every time I hit a bump the car would bottom out and the tires would scrape inside the wheel well." According to Martino, the car would only run for about a month. Then he had to save up his own money to replace the engine.

I'm surprised they removed sh@t after the shoot. As far as making the car run good, no sh@t! I've always said the show was stupid because the put tacky mods and never touched the engine or mechanical stuff. I think I saw a motor swap once on that show.

Fvcking idiots for even wanting to go on the show. Attention Whores seeking a handout.

You mean they didn't focus on making those rolling heaps mechanically sound before adding frivolous stereos, aquariums, etc? I thought for sure they would offer a warranty upon completion.

I bet they'll say the people on house hunters already bought a house and they're just paying random people to go on their show to pretend to look at homes and ask absurd prices for them, and that storage wars plants objects

Xzibit filed for bankruptcy a couple years ago. Only had an old jeep wrangler left to his name.

My Ride: invisible car
Considering every single episode ended with the same gimmick of them just barely finishing the car in time, you knew it was either movie magic or they were cutting corners. I had hoped it was just movie magic. This is kind of sad, really.
