Official Mountain bike Thread!

Ill ship mine express to you for $2000

Just finished a 40km ride/ 25 miles. My but is hurting !! havent gone that far in like 10 years and only had my bike out 3 times so far lol. But damn it was nice.

god dammit i'm going nuts here, reading about bikes on forums and it's so sunny outside i'm stuck at the office

i emailed bikes direct for shipping info to Canada, they have some nice windsors and there is a sick titanium motobecane for 1995$ retail over 4 grand.

but i like the white windsor and the white specialized i posted above.

lowdog, are you going to change the pedals? what's a good site to check out accessories for bikes (backpacks, the bag under you seat in pic...etc etc)

Bought my bag at walmart (yeah i know but its just a bag there is no difference $7). Bought the bottle and cage at a local bike shop $10. Bought the bike computer at walmart as well for $10 I cant recommend any good accessories sites as i havent bought anything yet :-p Next thing im gonna buy is some padded shorts and sunglasses lol

By the way what is up with all the people with $10,000 triathlon bikes and bikes that looks to good for the tour de france. They also dress like the pros and then they dont even go faster than me on my mtb and im NOT in good shape. Posers lol

Dont count on it, they replied me after 24 hours each time. There is a phone number on their site. I know its only for payment issues but just try and call it anyway. The ladies who answers the phones are friendly

couldn't find the number and they only open monday to friday

Don't spend 2k on your first bike, especially a hardtail....you can do so much better . I'm out of town till Sunday night or id look for a few good deals online for you

holy cow, i went riding on a small trail for the first time ever and it was sooo much fun. i borrowed my friend's bike (some kinda trek) but man am i sore. my ******* literally hurts from that seat. but i want to do this more often, great workout and a lot of fun

lol I wouldn't use that bike on that trail. I don't have any pictures - here's a snapshot from a video of it

Where do you buy those trial bikes? yes trial not trail :p

I looked at ebay and craigslist and couldnt find 1 ? Kind of weird. The small bikes without a seat you use to jump on/from stuff (no bmx)

^I think they are more popular in Europe but I think Mongoose makes one. My neighbor has one made by Onza also.

Do you guys wear shin pads/knee pads/elbow pads for light offroading or just crazy ass climbs and descents?

what about helmet, i'm probably gonna get a regular one until my skills catch up to my bike, then i'll add a FS bike next year if my skills are good enough by then.

Good news is that bikes direct can ship the bike to the nearest UPS store in the US and i go pick it up. Gonna check with border rules for that one. I'll end up getting the windsor bike for 900~ which retails for 2000$. big difference. i'll be under my original budget too.

Dont trust their retail prices. They are like the only company who sells them so they decide the mrsp lol but look and see if the components are better than other bikes in that price class.
