ESS makes a nice system using the Vortec blower...
HPF is a no way--too expensive. There are a couple AA and VF used kits for sale on the forums right now. Getting close to pulling the trigger.

What do you mean re: compromises?

It's not going to drive like a stock car. You may not be able to pass emissions. You most likely will have to get a set of headers and race cats. You'll go through wear items (spark plugs, coil packs, tires, brakes) faster. Those sorts of things..

Yea, had contemplated most of that, except for the whole not passing emissions part. I've got to look into that, b/c I'm not down with failing emissions. We'll see...will be putting the Borla midpipe on this weekend and then figuring out whether to get some headers or not.

The VF kit is the only one I know for sure will pass emissions. I've heard the AA kit can't because they have several necessary sensors that pop up as "not ready" on the emissions scan. I'm not sure about ESS. HPF can't pass period.

You know the Borla mid pipe won't give you any more power, right? The only mod on these cars besides FI that makes any power are headers.

Yep, just trying to change the tone of the exhaust, and eliminate some rasp.

The more I think about it, will prob wait until the spring for FI. No need to make the car any more crazy in the snow, and I'll be driving it in the snow. Maybe I'll just tidy up preventative maintenance issues.
