i wasn't sure of the sturdiness against potholes. i was in downtown the other day and i definitely wasn't very happy hitting and diving around potholes like i was.

Tell me about it. I drive these damn downtown streets everyday. People probably think im wasted trying to avoid all the potholes at 8:00 am.

I am also doing RTAB and FCAB in the next week or so.

17's will have more tire to cushion the potholes/crappy streets than 18's... another reason to go with 17's.

K1's are strong, a wheel sees more stress in a day at the track than most wheels during a year of street duty.

oh really... which fcabs and rtabs did you end up going with? everyone is doing suspension overhauls lol.

What is the general consensus on using H&R race springs with stock sport shocks? I do know that they will wear out faster.

Several people have run them without problems. You're right in they'll wear the dampers faster and if they're blown you might get a bounce.

That's about it really. Depending on how worn your struts and shocks are at this point, your ride might become bouncier if the race springs are a bit stiffer than oem

Ok. The suspension is still very tight for the mileage (68k). I also inspected and didnt see any signs of leaking. I honestly feel like the RTAB are the only bushings that are in need of replacement but I thought I would take of everything while I am underneath the car.

H&R race springs will kill your dampers, and you'll be riding around on the bumpstops all day long. Would strongly advise against them.

And for wheels, 17 > 18 all day, every day.

I signed up to drive HPR with BMW CCA and plan on doing HPDE with NASA the following weekend. Then maybe I'll be brave enough to run HPR without an instructor to hold my hand.

Thanks again for all the advice guys. I'd love to be able to say this weekend would be great, but I'm not sure FCPGroton will get me the correct parts back in time.

Next-next Saturday would be great. I can't accept help like this for nothing though. If any of you guys have watches that need service, or like a particular liquor, etc. I'd feel a lot more comfortable.

I'm going to go check out the wheels you suggested now, and look for the best deal on the rear trailing arm bushings.

i don't know how many times i've posted about the fact that every friday in May is a lapping day... the 7th is a friday... you figure it out
