No I didn't. I need to look into that spring drive. I haven't had a chance to do anything BMW related since I moved out here. It looks like I'm gonna be aroud for another 5 years or so so I need to get out and meet some people.

Very nice, I will search for that.

I just went and looked for the tool rental dude...he's not on Craigslist right now. I've seen him remove his ad only to re-list it several weeks later. He'll be back.

I shall be there soon. My better half wants to check the new x1 and I want e92. So once the debate is settled I will come there.

A guy in CSprings is renting one on Craiglist. He is asking $50 for 3 days.

Also, someone in Longmont is selling one.

I saw this as well. Once I get moved from Evans to the Denver area I will have to get ahold of him.

Guys I have the factory sports springs I just removed from my 01.
Anyone wants to buy them for $70.

Dont want to deal with packaging and shipping so I am just throwing it out here if anyone is looking for factory sports springs.
I changed my whole suspension and threw away the shocks/struts. But springs were good, so may be someone is looking for a small drop from factory non-sport? Hit me up.

Hello all! Been reading this forum for years but never joined.. I'm glad I am a member tho. Such a great resource.
Question:: Does anyone located in/around Thornton, Westminster, or Broomfield area have a reader/scanner that can determine why the 4x4 light won't go away on my E53?

I think most of us only have the Peak tool that will read engine codes. Have you disconnected power anytime recently? Check the post out below. There is a post that describes to reset the steering angle sensor:
I think that's pretty common result when you disconnect power. First thing I would try is the steering angle sensor reset.

You don't need to turn the engine on but makes it easier.

1) Turn on engine.
2) While in Park, turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock.
3) Last, recenter the steering wheel.

I believe it doesn't matter whether you start turning left then right - as opposed to turn right then left.

It started after driving in that past snow storm. We came home from some snow driving and noticed it came on. So naturally, I started scouring the forums. I tried the wheel turn thing about 50 times. I tried unhooking the battery for an hour at a time with no luck..
Took it to autozone and their computer couldn't read anything...

I'm hoping a BMW specific reader might direct me to my issue...

Well I will be at the Bimmer Burger Night through the RMC CCA on Saturday if you are close. I'd be more than happy to plug the peake tool in and see if anything is stored. If you're not getting an engine code I'm not sure we would get anything but I'm happy to try.

Thanks for the invite! That's a little far from my house tho.

I have been spending some time over at XOUTPOST.. Everyone seems to think my battery is just dying..
Getting a new one this weekend, hope that fixes.

Good luck!

I remember on my 330 I was having some really weird symptoms, changed the battery and everything was fixed.

My Ride: is Stage 2 AWD!
Same thing happened to me when I had my 3, had all kinds of weird gremlin happenings and turned out I just needed a new battery. Either way it's a good place to start as batteries take the most abuse, especially here in the extreme temp changes.

I still have the battery the dealership I bought my car from put in back in 2007. I have it checked periodically and they say it's fine, but it's something I think about more and more with each passing year.
