I don't believe there is any sacrificed horsepower in a non-M naturally aspirated engine if you run mid-grade fuel (based on science). Turbo and M engines probably need to run 91 here though as they are more demanding. For me, I'll probably stick with 87-89 after this tank is empty.

Would be nice if there were a gas station in the Denver metro area that DIDN'T add ethanol. Anyone know of one?

The station in lakewood is a bit more expensive than ethanol added E85

Has anyone ever ice raced on Georgetown lake? Everything I've seen only allows AWD or 4WD vehicles. Are there any clubs that allow RWD? I think it's be a blast to take my 330i up.

I did an ice race a couple years ago and it is fun but slow... painfully slow. I am only aware of the 4WD events.

What do you mean by slow? A lot of sitting around waiting? I recall a few years back I stopped in after snowboarding to watch. For some reason it was all old Porsches and other German cars.

The event I did was pure ice with no cut up traction, and I was in standard tire classed Suby. Slow to accelerate, slow to decelerate, and when it came around, it kept going. It was almost like curling, in caparison to autox.

Interesting. I think I would like the cut up better, get some fun and easy drifting in. Maybe this just sounds better in my mind. Like Auto-X where you don't get the wear and tear. Thanks for the insight! Maybe I'll just have to drive up and sightsee once they get started.

I do not believe they let RWD cars on the lake.
I went to do some fishing last winter, but all I saw were AWDs at the lake event. I didn't see a single RWD/FWD vehicle on the lake. It surely looked fun but I can imagine my car sliding all the way and hitting the dam. The surface was super slippery.
I drive up there to Georgetown, Vail and Aspen regularly during winter in my car. I70 can be brutal at items, but never had guts to actually take my car on the waterbody.
I know one thing for sure is, you need permit from georgetown to take part in the event. Sign a waiver and all that stuff.

I would rather take a subbie or an old quattro. Saw a lot of 90s AWD cars including the new cayennes and x6s.

I don't believe the lake is frozen yet, may be I will go there this weekend and do some last regular fishing.

AFAIK the only way to get on the lake with RWD is with the BMWCCA for their 1-Day a year event. Spots fill up very quickly

Hi Denver e46ers! I'm wondering if anyone here in Denver has an e46 Sedan with KW V1s? I want to get a ride in a car with them to see if I'd like them for daily driving. Free 6 pack!

Tru Wheel Design. They've done several sets for me with great results.

What is an avg price to pay per wheel? My dad has a set of Style 158's from his old E90 that are bent. Wouldn't mind throwing them on my 330.

What do you mean "old" e90? I've got an E46 that I don't consider old.

Anyways, I have a friend that took his to Spec and it was about $120 a wheel from them. I have't yet talked to anyone else for price. That was including a refinishing to.

Ha, when I say old I mean he doesn't own it anymore. Traded it for a 2013 X5.
It was. 2007 335xi, sold it with 160k on the clock. Only issues were 1 HPFP (warranty) and a set of Bilsteins. Surprisingly reliable.
