Alright, I still think they should pay for towing but that's just me. Anyway, my car's finally starting to take a crap on me...it's idling incredibly rough and was almost stalling out today. On top of that, the gas was incredibly sluggish, I'm talking pedal to the floor and barely any acceleration. Taking it to get the codes read tomorrow. This was just what I needed.

Damn windshields, yea that would be good, then we can compare what I find out today with what yours says just to double check. I'm cringing the thought of going out and starting it right now...

Also saw a red ZHP ci yesterday on County Line and then followed me onto Colorado, not sure if he's on here or not.

no worries...there are a lot of people at those events. I have been around three years and sometimes you assume people know each other.

By the way, my husband liked your birthday cake.

Damn guys, here's the sh!t sandwich I got from my OBD-2 port;

P0174 - System too lean bank 2
P0300 - Random misfire detected
P1345
P1347 - Misfire cylinder 2 w/fuel cut-off
P0102 - Mass or volume flow circuit low input
P0171 - System too lean bank 1
P0313 - Misfire detected w/low fuel
P1343 - Misfire cylinder 1 w/fuel cut-off

No wonder my poor car was dying on me.

On a brighter note, I realized that when I cleaned my K&N filter a few days ago I forgot to clean the MAF as well so before I went in to pull these I pulled the intake apart and cleaned it good. Surprisingly, when I started it up after it was idling and running ok. I made a few stops while I was out too and it started up, idled and ran fine each time I got back in.

I think I'll stop back in a couple days and check my codes again just to see what else new pops up between now and then.

So what do you guys think?

My theory:
When the filter was put back in, everything may not have got sealed up completely introducing an air leak. That will cause the engine to run too lean and have idling problems. Either that or extra oil from the filter got on the MAF.

Boy, I can relate.

I had the 171 and the 174 when Schomps put in a Bad MAF. The part came out of parts new and it was bad. Then to make it more fun, we would put my original back in and it would run rich codes instead of lean.

I also got rid of my K&N filter.

Sorry your having a problem.

try switch mafs with someone. i believe alton has an ms43 3.0" maf on his car. see if that makes anything better or worse...

i would try that before you mess with o2 sensors and what not. i could bring some spare coilpacks along with me on sunday too to see if we can trouble shoot that. do you know if yours are the screw in type? ( i have screw in types)

Hmm, thanks guys, so you think I start with replacing the MAF? You think that bad 02 sensors could be playing a role in this as well?

could be....

honestly though, we should see if alton will let you try his maf... all of the things it could be can start to add up if you end up replacing the wrong one

Alright, guess that's a start, I'll try and text him.

I just realized earlier too that I havn't replaced the spark plugs either since I got the car, I should probly do that regardless.

it's part of the electronic ignition... it's why the car doesn't have a distributor (if i recall correctly)...

those going bad can cause misfires, but my guess is it is misfiring because it is running too lean. but that doesn't rule out the possibility that one is going out... i'll bring some of mine along anyway.
