Unless someone can pick me up I won't be able to do **** this weekend. I will be having someone drive me to ryan's on sat. So I can pick up my clothes, but don't want him to have to go back on his own. The cruise on the 6th is good for me. Should be home in a couple of hours. My phone isn't activated yet, but I'll send a message to the few I have numbers to when I do get the phone working.

i'll only temporarily seal it for now, just use some silicone. once cage goes in, i'll have it sealed with windshield sealant.

yes, for now my RT1000 seats will go back in.
when it goes to full race-car setup, i'll be pulling both seats and installing only a RT4009HR.

4009HR weighs more, as it has the head restraint part...
http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/store/s...tech/rt-shells

RT1000 - 14.33 lbs

RT4009HR - 18.7 lbs

when it comes to safety, i don't care (as much) about added weight, if it is functional.

Garrett, can I haz your black rear deck cover? Mine's freakin blue. If it will fit of course, anyone know? Also if the A pillars work I wants them too. Also, I'm guessing the roof lining won't fit but if so.... And anyone know whether or not the shift linkage and pulleys/belt would work?

yea, come get it anytime, but this does have that odd color-fade (the dark spot was where the V1 housing was.

just confirm that you do want it and i'll take it off the webpage.

alright, i think i'm done 'stripping' the car... so now it's time to put it back together.

started with the dash, that went back in pretty easily, no bundled up wires got in the way, which is good since most of them are zip-tied down in their new locations.

after that i did some custom mounting of the CF roof insert panel, since this was a 'used' panel that's been on a PTG M3 for about 4 years, it was no surprise that when it arrived it wasn't in the greatest of conditions, but for me, it was work able, considering the nearly 50% cost reduction over a new panel. however, it does have some mild fitment issues (the rear corners are a little low, so i had to rig up some some custom brackets to pull them up, but even still the driver side rear is lower than the passenger side... but i don't care enough to buy a better one.

before working on it:

after working on it:

then i worked on getting the rollbar back in (for now):

i guess tomorrow i'll try to get the seats and belts back in and tidy up the remaining buttons and take it for a test drive and see how much more annoying it is now.

you betcha.

just got back from a test-drive and it went fine, no issues, can hear a whole bunch more of what's going on with the brakes (more accurately, when i brake hard, i can hear my eyeballs pop).

i didn't really have any good twisties to try it out on, but i suspect that it won't feel as top heavy now and will snap back and forth easier. i really need to get it on the scales to see how much benefit this diet had.
