There are always people on either side of the fence on this. Several members run it with no ill effects. Just be cautious. I think you can easily get away with a 50 shot.

Definitely do your research. There are a lot of different set-ups and manufacturers. If you buy the wrong set-up or have it set up wrong, you are potentially looking at a rather expensive engine rebuild. Done correctly, however, nitrous is a great way to add power. If you are serious about nitrous, there are a number of threads on here that address the issues related to it written by people who know a lot more than me.

It's nitrous, not NOS. NOS is a brand. And it's no worse than any other form of forced induction, as long as you do it right.

I have it. 50 wet shot with no problems.

Anyone who thinks its ricey is ill-informed and too influenced by the negative connotation of Fast & The Furious. People are afraid of it because of what they've seen in movies and online videos of idiot ricers who mis-use it. Fact is, it has been used for years by drag racers safely. Just do your research and don't put more than your car can handle. The general consensus is that a 50 shot is fine, anything more will require that you adjust timing or you run the risk of detonation.

Chances are though, if you don't know that it's called nitrous, and not NOS...you should read a LOT more before you even begin to piece together a kit.

+1. I have mixed feelings about it. With my mileage, i wouldnt want to put more stress on the engine. But its up to you.

What kit do you have/have put together?
With something as small as a 50shot, are you even running colder plugs? How bout inline or another fuel pump. Stock pump handle a 50-75shot without a problem (without an inline pump)?

Thanks man

NX Express kit. No colder plugs, tapped into stock fuel lines. No need for another fuel pump. A 50 shot is nothing. I've been running it with 0 issues.

Honestly I dont think i would put nitrous in an E46 3 Series. If you are going to do it, then you have to save your money and get the safest and best of the best one.

It's perfectly safe as long as you install it right, and don't go beyond a 50 shot.

just like most things in life, if you do your research and go into it with all the info needed, you'll be fine.

This is simply one of those things i would suggest half-assing
