225 40 18 on a 18 x 8.5

Will 225 40 18 fit on a 18 x 8.5 rim?

Does anyone have pic's of what it looks like?

Will the rim protrude further out than the rim? Or will i have some rubber on the outside?

Want to go square set up on 03 330I ZHP... The only rims i like come in 18 x 8.5 but want to keep my rubber costs down.

Offset determines how far your wheels stick out.

225's will work perfectly fine on a 8.5" wheel. If you are worried about the stretch, this will all depend on the tire manufacturer you plan on running. Each manufacturer will have different sidewall and width characteristics, so one may stretch while the other may look square.

225/40R18 on 18X8.5" is very common to do and fits with no problem.
