How Likely is this a blown head?

I was driving home from school. As the car was running i heard a pop, thought i ran over something at first but didnt see anything in my rear view n car ran fine.

About a half mile later I came to a red light to see the RPM slightly fluctuating slightly and temp gauge lighting red. so i quickly shut off engine and pushed into gas station.

my car was towed home where i have an underground lot. by this time my car had cooled. so i started the engine and drove it in QUICKLY. the car ran fine but like i said i drove it quickly.

the problem is a bursted water hose 11531436410.checked the dipstick and i dont see foamy stuff

Not very likely unless you drove it while it was overheating for a bit. Do you know approx. how long you drove it with it in the red?

maybe 2-3 minutes, it was CRUISING till i hit the red light... where i caught it in red.... would a blown head make the engine shut off itself?

sounds like you did everything right in the situation if you waited for it to cool down. i'd say your head gasket is probably fine.

You're probably okay. Just make sure you check your oil/coolant a lot in the next few weeks. It sounds like you did the right thing, although 2-3 minutes in the red is a long time - depending on what the rate of coolant loss was.
