Getting ready for warmer weather in San Diego

Hey everyone...since summer is just around the corner, I figure I'd see if I can juice-up my AC system in preparation for it. I've tried searching on our forum for people's experiences with different shops that service air conditioning but have yet to find anything.

Have any of you been to a reputable ac service shop recently in San Diego?
I'm sure there has to be a few that does a good job of it.
Please help me out.

My ac is still cold, but I want it colder.
I'm also hoping that by getting it recharged, the annoying sound that I've been hearing lately from the compressor will subside or go away completely.
