m52tub28 questions
My car needs a new head gasket (2000 528i). I found an engine for cheap with less than 100k on it. I'm having a friend of mine help me put the engine in. Im not familiar with these engines, so my question was:
Since the engine is out and will be much easier to access, are there any things i should go ahead and replace before i install the engine. i.e. vanos seal, any gasket, or things of that nature??? You're help is greatly appreciated. |

vanos seals are located on the vanos pistons in a unit at the front of the motor...
http://beisansystems.com/ there is a link to the seals and the diy to do the seals on that site ![]() Iceman00 is dead on. there isn't anything else that really needs to be addressed on the b28. definitely do the CCV while you have the engine out of the car. it will make things a LOT easier. don't forget to do the valve cover gasket as well if you are doing the vanos seals.
