average installation cost of superchargers

I've decided on getting my car boosted with a supercharger (even which company its going to be from). However, obviously the price of the kit isn't going to be the final price that is going to come out of my wallet. My question is what are the average install rates for superchargers? How much did your local shops charge you? As you can see self install is obviously out of the question here.

Of course I'll ask around the shops in my area but I'd like to know what the usual costs are so I don't get cheated.

Considering the average rate for labor is about a 100 bucks an hour and 8-12 hour install, I'm wondering if shops is just charging extra because its a BMW.

It's abour 1200 or so. ~10 hrs labor * 100 or so/hr.
You need to look around. I'm sure there's a sponsor/good shop over in CA that installs them and will hook ya up.

Wow... I must have gotten a deal... Just under $700. But then I had them do other stuff while in there... fuel filter, throttle body cleaning, brake flush, and fresh oil change. Still came out really good.

Don't forget that cost will also depend on if the kit has a FMIC and/or oil cooler.

The lowest quote I got was $1200, so I just installed it myself. Glad I did too. It wasn't particularly difficult and since I'm now familiar with every part of the kit, I'll never have to pay anyone to service it in the future.

Heck, I know the shop guys, and got 10% off. Even "full price" seems like I got a steal.

I was kinda thinking I should have done my own too, but it was my daily at the time.

Don't forget beside the install you should put a wideband and boost gauge. It will cost another $500.00 for it. I did it myself with a friend. I had to weld another plug for the wideband gauge cost another 200.00. Changing the fuel filter cost 160.00. Oil change another 150.00. So it add up a little bit more.

You do learn a lot about the system and how it works when you do it yourself. Gauges must be inculded in your budget.

You shouldn't pay over $1000. It's not hard to do instally yourself if you have the tools and some knowledge.
