You have to wire it through your glovebox to have them turn on when you unlock and lock your car. My buddy just did it.

Already did that, I guess that's better than having them flash

Does anyone know if I can hook up TWO buzzers to the same connector? I like the sound of 273-060 but its too quiet.

Yes you can. Just connect it to the other buzzer's wires and place it on the other side of the car. Thats what I did. You're just gonna have to buy some wire to run to the other side. easy and it sounds way better than just one...believe me...

Thanks OP for posting this.
I got the 102db(273-079) first but I didn't like the sound. So I returned it and got the 86db(273-0060) instead. For anyone who is wondering how they sound like, here are two videos: Since the 86db is not loud enough, I'll probably hook up two buzzers, one on each side. I'll post a video when I have them installed on the car. BTW, If anyone in Socal need to program their car for alarm/flashing when unlocking/locking, shoot me a PM, I can do it for you.

I did this a while back and it works great. But now all of the sudden the alarm will go off at random times. ill unlock the car to turn the alarm off and it will go off a few minutes later. I have no idea what could be causing this. Has anyone had something similar happen?

there's any way to do this with the door lock trigger wire? as an alternative to those who doesn't have the flashing lights? it only will be one "beep" when locking/ opening but it will save the $50, any ideas?

Meh, I got the 102 db buzzer from Radio shack today. Not as loud as I was hoping it would be. I saw a 200 db buzzer. Might have to give that a go instead. Great DIY.

After a month u still happy with the level of ur siren with the 2 buzzers? Btw did u connect both buzzers to the oem alarm connection or did u splice one buzzer into the other and only connect one buzzer wiring to the actual oem connection?

Yeah, the siren is very loud when placed under the washer grill. I connected both buzzers to the oem connection.

What did u use to secure it? To make sure it wouldn't come out of the connection?

Oh yea, one other quick question. Placing it there by the cabin air filter doesn't leave it exposed to rain? That's the only thing I would imagine would be a risk in that location.

Boo hooo
I just bought my buzzer and pulled off the cabin filter, and various panels to reach the cabin blower area. Hunted and felt all around but the only wiring loom there was the one that goes from the fuse box over the cabin blower to the windscreen wiper motor. We are RHD here in Australia and so perhaps we have different wiring loom. (Fuse box behind glovebox on LHS of car for instance.) Looked and felt BOTH sides of the cabin blower and there is no other wiring whatsoever. At least I hadn't paid to have my lights reprogrammed to flash on locking/unlocking. Oh well, what's the next cheap mod?
